About Megan

Megan Downey is the Lesson Supervisor here at Bell Mountain Ranch Equestrian Center.  Megan teaches primarily Hunter/Jumper/Equitation English style of riding.  Her passions are building a welcoming team environment, helping each student realize their individual goals, and continuing to learn each day from our amazing equine friends.

Megan grew up riding and working at top Hunter/Jumper show barn in Modesto, California.  Moving on to California Polytechnic State University, SLO, she assisted in running the colt-starting programs as well as taught Equestrian Team practices for 4 years.  From there Megan dove into many different facets of the equine industry.  She started Thoroughbreds at a Kentucky horse farm, worked in the reproduction lab of the largest Racing Quarter Horse facility in the world, and most recently spent a few years training Fox Hunters and riding with the Arapahoe Hunt Club here in Colorado - red coats, horns, and all!

Megan is thrilled to come to BMREC and settle down with what she loves best of all - helping students gain confidence, have fun, and understand true horsemanship.
